There are many different ideas and myths that surround cholesterol.  For instance, there are such things as good and bad cholesterol.  Therefore, there may come a time in your life when you need to start eating a high cholesterol diet.  Your doctor or physician will most certainly be able to get you started on the right foot, but where should you go if you are looking for more answers?

If you are at home, you definitely use the internet as a resource.  Say you are unsure about a certain food and you want to make sure it fits into your high cholesterol diet; you can try searching the internet for an answer.  There are many websites devoting to providing people with good health tips, especially when it comes to cholesterol.  There are many myths surrounding high cholesterol diets, so make you sure you know exactly what the food that you are eating can do for you.

That being said, there are many different foods that can be eaten in a high cholesterol diet.  Again, if you are unsure about a certain food, you are recommended to research the answer.  You may just learn something new and find a new food that you can eat as a part of your new diet.

The eggs that are produced today are actually lower in cholesterol.  Eating an egg every day won’t raise your chances for getting heart disease, either.  Different kinds of eggs have similar cholesterol contents as well.

Believe it or not, but garlic has been proven to have a positive effect on people in high cholesterol diets.  So far, the effects are short-term and it is unknown how long the effects of garlic will have on a person after three months, but it still would not be a bad idea to include some garlic in your diet.  It can lower total cholesterol and bad cholesterol while lowering high blood pressure as well.

Other foods that are important in a high cholesterol diet include coffee, soy, vegetables, red wine (a glass a day), whole grains, and even chocolate.

You will certainly have to do some research on your own to find which foods will fit into your particular diet.  The reasoning for this is because everyone’s diet will be unique because our bodies are all completely different.  Either way, you should go the extra mile in all of this because it will keep you feeling healthier for a much longer period of time.
